How to Tie the Heel Knot
Tie a heel knot in order to prevent your shoes from sliding off during rigorous activities and sports. Athletes wear heel knots, or heel locks, to secure their shoes to their heels in a tighter fashion than ordinary knots. Those with narrow heels can try this knot, as well. Tie a heel knot by utilizing the two holes at the top of the shoes, on either side of the ankle. You can complete the heel knot in less than two minutes.

1
Put on your shoe, overlap your laces and then insert the ends of your laces into the front lace holes at the very top of the shoe. Pull the laces through tightly.
-
2
Insert each lace into the hole directly behind the top lace hole on your shoe, on the same side. Pull the laces until there is a small loop on each side of the shoe.
-
3
Slide each lace through the loop on the opposite side of the shoe, and then cinch it tightly. Tie your shoe laces as you would regularly to complete the heel knot. Repeat the entire process for the second shoe.
