How to Glue the Heel of a Soccer Shoe

If the heel of your soccer shoe comes apart, you don't need to worry about shelling out the cash for a new pair of shoes in the middle of your season. Instead, you can opt to repair the shoes yourself by simply gluing the heel back into place. In fact, do it with products that you probably already have sitting around your house, and you'll be able to use your shoes within the next day or two.

      Lay out old newspaper over your workspace to make sure you don't drip superglue onto your table or floors. Choose a well-ventilated area so you don't become overwhelmed by the glue fumes and so the shoe dries faster.

      Clean off the heel area of your shoe. If the heel separated during a game or practice, make sure the area you'll be gluing is free of all dirt, grass and other debris. Gluing dirt or grass into the heel could result in an uncomfortable bump underneath your heel.

      Apply the superglue to the base of your shoe and press the heel onto it firmly. If a large section of the heel separated from the shoe, you may want to use clips to hold it in place while the glue dries. Place the clips strategically around the cleats of the shoe. If you do not use clips, sit the shoe upright while it dries.

      Let the shoe sit with the clips in place on top of the newspaper for 24 to 48 hours. Once the glue is completely dry, you can remove the clips and wear your shoes.
