Take gymnastics classes. Find an experienced trainer who can help you safely develop the appropriate muscles needed to elevate and twist yourself into the air for a successful flip.

Practice backflipping on a large trampoline to help you get used to adjusting your body in midair without having to get yourself properly elevated since the trampoline will ensure you have enough height to flip successfully.

Jump into the air several times a day to improve your leg strength and to work on increasing your vertical leap.

Perform a backflip with your trainer and another person next to you so they can catch you and help ensure you land correctly without hurting yourself.

Repeat the practice with your trainer until you can do a standing backflip consistently by yourself.
