How to Clap in Cheering

Cheerleading offers young men and women the opportunity to show their school spirit in a constructive form. Many cheerleading moves take years of practice to perfect -- not all do, however. Learning to clap is one of the basic moves of cheerleading and can be perfected after only a few sessions of practicing. Cheerleading involves practice and spirit and if you have both, learning any cheerleading move will come easily.

Instructions

    • 1

Place your feet shoulder width apart.

    • 2

Bring your hands together in front of your face. Never clap lower or higher than your nose area.

    • 3

Release your hands to shoulder width. Do not go further than shoulder width when clapping because the form is improper and not uniformed.

    • 4

Keep your hands together until the next clap or cheer move.
