1
Apply the glue with a brush to both sides of the table tennis racket and set it aside to dry. About seven to nine milliliters of glue will suffice for each side of the blade, depending on the surface area.
-
2
Apply the glue to the sponge of both topsheets and set them aside to dry. About 12 to 14 milliliters of glue will suffice for each top sheet, although several factors, such as sponge thickness, density and style--tuned or traditional--may change the amount. You don't have to worry if you apply too much glue; it will just evaporate.
-
3
Attach the rubber sheets to each side of the blade with the sponge facing the blade. Press down on the rubber sheets firmly to evenly distribute the glue.
-
4
Take your sharp scissors and cut the rubber around the blade to the shape of the racket. Make sure you do not leave any extra rubber hanging off the edge; that is not only illegal, but it adds several grams of weight to the racket.
