How to Do a Cork on Skis
Skiing can be as simple as snowplowing your way down a mountain but, after skiing for a while, many people need to challenge themselves. The cork, a trick designed for experts, involves launching off a small jump and rotating while in the air. It calls for flexibility, depth perception and pinpoint timing for proper execution. Skiers can be severely injured if they don't land correctly.

1
Gain speed and aim for approximately 20 miles per hour when you reach the jump -- about the speed in which you would be biking down a hill at nearly top speed.
-
2
Turn your torso one way and your arms the other way when you're on the jump, which gets you in the ready position to spin after you launch.
-
3
Tuck your chest into your knees as you spin in the air and rotate as many times as possible. Try one revolution during your first launch and then work your way up to three.
-
4
Straighten your legs and prepare to land with your skis directly in front of you, then bend your knees as you land. Straighten your legs slightly and continue to ski or come to a stop.
