Can You Rent Clothing While Renting Ski Equipment?
-
Rental Gear
-
Many mountain lodges offer three packages for equipment rentals. The ski package includes skis, boots and poles. The snowboard package includes a snowboard and boots. The snowshoe package includes snowshoes and an optional Pulk sled for pulling infants and small children.
What You Need
-
In addition to the gear you can rent, for a day in the snow you will need thermal underwear and heavy socks. You should dress in layers for warmth and top the layers with waterproof pants and jacket. Finally, you will need gloves or mittens, goggles, a hat, and a bandanna to protect your neck and face.
Where To Get It
-
If you have friends who ski or snowboard, ask if you can borrow some of their old apparel to wear when you go to the mountain. If you would rather not ask a friend, check your local scene for swap meets. Skiers and riders are known for swapping out clothing and equipment to save money. You can find excellent deals on almost-new clothing at these swap meets. Finally, check out thrift stores for warm winter clothing that won't break the bank.
