Ski Lodges in Western North Carolina

North Carolina's six ski areas are all located along the western part of the state. The resorts provide skiing and snowboarding opportunities to both residents and visitors. While not all of the lodges in these areas provide overnight accommodations, all of them offer various amenities to their guests.
  1. Appalachian Ski Mountain

    • Appalachian Ski Mountain in Blowing Rock has 11 ski runs and a terrain park for snowboarders that features 13 rails and eight boxes. The resort has four chalets alongside the slopes available for rent. All four chalets are big enough to house family and friends and include fireplaces, grills, big-screen televisions with cable service, washers and dryers and wireless Internet service. The lodge at the base of the slopes is a 46,000 square foot retreat designed to look like something from the Swiss Alps. The lodge offers you a place to sit by the fire and an observation deck where you can enjoy the outdoors while watching the action on the hill. A video game room and a TV room are also part of the lodge experience.
