Ski Resorts Nearest to Everett, Washington

Everett, located 28 miles north of Seattle, has an ideal combination of Puget Sound coastline to the west and a highway leading directly to the Cascade Mountains to the east. Downhill skiers and snowboarders can easily travel to and from a ski resort within a single day from Everett or plan an overnight stay for extended time on the slopes. Washington's ski season typically lasts from November to April, depending on snowfall and weather conditions.
  1. Stevens Pass

    • Follow Highway 2 directly east from Everett for 65 miles to Stevens Pass, originally opened by two Seattle skiers in 1937. Stevens Pass is one of Washington's most well-known ski areas and has 10 lifts providing access to 1,125 skiable acres with 37 primary runs. Three day lodges feature five casual dining options and three full-service restaurants, as well as an apparel shop and rental equipment facilities. Located within the Snoqualmie National Forest, Stevens Pass does not have overnight accommodations but the Bavarian-themed town of Leavenworth is a convenient choice, with many hotels and inns approximately 30 miles away.

    Mt. Baker

    • Travel north on Interstate 5 for 60 miles from Everett to Bellingham and follow the signs east to the Mt. Baker Highway. The Mt. Baker Highway travels approximately 52 miles through scenic mountain loops and ends at the Mt. Baker Ski Area. With an annual snowfall of 647 inches, Mt. Baker is a popular ski and snowboard destination for Washington residents as well as nearby Canadian skiers. Within the ski area, eight quad chair lifts and two rope tows transport skiers and snowboarders up to 4,300 feet at Heather Meadows and 3,500 feet in the White Salmon area of the resort. RVs and campers are permitted to stay overnight at Mt. Baker, and several accommodations are available along the Mt. Baker Highway and near the town of Glacier.

    The Summit at Snoqualmie

    • The Summit at Snoqualmie is 75 miles southeast of Everett and is easily accessible by traveling south on Interstate 5 and then east on Interstate 90. The resort encompasses four ski areas known as Alpental, Summit East, Summit Central and Summit West. Snoqualmie's 26 chair lifts can accommodate almost 35,000 riders per hour to access 1,916 total skiable acres, and a complimentary shuttle transports visitors among the four base areas. Trails for cross country skiing and snowshoeing also are available at Snoqualmie, and four lodges and rental equipment shops provide assistance and services to guests. Overnight accommodations are available at one hotel within a half-mile of the resort, and at inns and hotels located within 30 miles to the east and west.
