1
Cut small pieces of foam to act as toe spacers between the big toe and second toe, and between the last toes on your foot. Cut a heavy wool sock just past the end of your toes so that it will act as a toe cap and keep your toes from getting crowded during the fitting. Put on a thin ski liner sock over the toe cap and spacers.
-
2
Put foil over the oven racks so the liners won't get burned. Preheat the oven to about 325 degrees. After the oven has reached that temperature, turn the oven down to warm.
-
3
Place the liners inside the oven on top of the foil and let them heat for six minutes. Check them after four minutes and again after five minutes to make sure they aren't burning. Pull them out after six minutes; they should be soft and flexible.
-
4
Insert the liner into the shell. If you have a performance footbed, place it in the liner. It is not a good idea to mold the liner without a good footbed.
-
5
Put your foot inside the liner and fasten the buckles on the boots so they are tight. Leave your feet inside the liner until your toes feel quite warm, about 15 minutes. The liners will cool down and conform to your feet.
