How to Determine the Edge Angle on a Snowboard
Snow won't do much damage to the bottom of your snowboard, but rocks, sticks and rails will if you venture into the board park or areas out of bounds on a hill. To fix the burrs that show up in the edges of your snowboard, it is crucial to know just what edge angle your snowboard is at, so you do not mess anything up by inadvertently trying to change the edges of your snowboard.
Things You'll Need

1
Determine if any changes have been made to your edges since you bought the snowboard. Most snowboards come from the factory with a base angle of 0, which is 90 degrees. If your snowboard edges haven't been retouched, there is a good chance this is the angle.

2
Hold the bevel gauge against the snowboard edge. Bevel gauge designs vary, but many are metal plates with various edge angles cut in to them.
-
3
Try the different edge angles on the bevel gauge. The one that closest matches the edges of your snowboard will give you an indication of what your edge angles are, and what they need to be tuned to.
