American University Soccer Scholarships

With many players in Europe and South America playing professionally by the time they reach their mid-teenage years, American soccer is often criticized internationally for its over-reliance on college players. Still, the American university system boasts several healthy and competitive leagues. For the talented male or female player, these leagues offer the opportunity to attain scholarships from some of the best and brightest universities in the country.
  1. Duke University

    • Duke offers soccer scholarships for its men's and women's teams. Playing for the Duke Blue Devils at Koskinen Stadium gives young players the opportunity to perform in front of crowds of up to 7,000 people. In addition to soccer, Duke is home to excellent programs in engineering, medicine and law, as well as arts and sciences. With fees for the 2011-2012 year averaging some $50,000, soccer scholarships can be of great benefit to any student.
