How to Customize Soccer Uniforms

Soccer, called football almost everywhere else in the world, is one of the fastest-growing sports in the United States. Many young people of both sexes are involved in playing recreational or competitive soccer. Teams and leagues may be set up by county, district or city. Your logo should be relative to the name of your team and be visible on your uniform. Putting names on the back along with uniform numbers is also an excellent way to customize your soccer jerseys.

Instructions

    • 1

Buy blank soccer jerseys from your local sporting goods store, or order them online. Choose a color to match you team's style and preference.

    • 2

Design an image for your team's logo, either on paper or by using a computer graphics program and printing the logo on iron-on transfer paper.

    • 3

Locate a local screen printing shop that can print iron-on logos, names and numbers for your jerseys. Ask the print shop employee to print your image, numbers and names on iron-on transfer paper. Many screen printing shops also have pre-made name number templates for you to choose from if you have trouble designing your own.

    • 4

Position the iron-on transfer paper, with the logo on it, on the top left area of the jersey.

    • 5

Heat up the iron to the hottest setting without using steam. Put a flat paper bag in between the fabric of the jersey so it won't print through to the other side. Place the iron-on transfer paper, image side face down, in the area of the jersey where you wish to apply it.

    • 6

Transfer the printed logo to the jersey. Press the iron on the back of the iron-on transfer paper and move the iron in large circular motions for at least two minutes. Work your way from the outside edges of the image to the center. Gently remove the paper once it has cooled down.

    • 7

Flip the jersey over and position the printed number, face side down, in the center of the jersey. Transfer the printed number to the jersey by pressing the iron to the back of the iron-on transfer paper using large circular motions for at least two minutes. Gently peel away the paper once it has cooled down.

    • 8

Position the printed name in the center of the jersey 2 to 3 inches from the collar, just above the number. Press the iron to the back of the iron-on transfer paper using large circular motions for at least two minutes. Gently peel away the paper once it has cooled down.
