How to Clean a Softball Glove

A properly cared for softball glove is essential to getting the longest life out of the glove as possible. Repeated abuse, dirt and moisture damage the glove's structure and dependability as a defensive tool. Softball glove are made of either synthetic materials or leather. While a synthetic softball glove is easier to clean, a leather softball glove can be worked into a more flexible form and protects the hand better.

  • Damp towels
  • Leather cleaner

Instructions

      Remove excess dirt from the outside and as far into the inside of the glove as possible by using a damp towel.

      Rinse off the damp towel and use it to rub a small amount of leather cleaner into entire surface of the glove, focusing on the pocket, fingers and back.

      Wipe off the remainder of the leather cleaner with a fresh damp towel.

      Air dry the glove and store in a clean, dry place. Don't store it in an equipment bag.
