1
Find a league. There are slow-pitch softball leagues in most cities, often run by sports clubs or other athletic organizations. However, not all of them are co-ed, so you'll need to check out the leagues in your area before you commit to one. Also, some leagues may be more competitive than others, so decide which level you want to compete at and match your interests.

2
Join a team. Once you've found a co-ed slow-pitch league in your area, you'll need to join a team. If you have enough friends, you may even be able to join the league as a full time. You may be required to pay membership dues, and some leagues will require uniforms as well. Once again, research what's required before hand, so when it comes time to hit the field, you have nothing else on your mind except for the game.

3
Practice. Because a lot of co-ed slow-pitch leagues are comprised of working adults, there aren't always organized practices. Therefore, if you want to get better, you're going to have to work at it on your own time. Besides making you a better ball player, practicing will also make you a better athlete, and better athletes don't get hurt as easily. A little extra time spent running, lifting or taking ground balls will translate to less time spend on the injured list.

Play hard. As the saying goes, leave nothing on the field. Even the teams that take a more leisurely approach to the sport still want to win. Have fun, but don't let your teammate's down. In the end, the harder you play, the happier you'll be when you look back at your season.

5
Party hard. While co-ed slow-pitch softball is fun on the field, its also fun off the field. One of the perks of the sport is the after party. Your teammates will quickly become your friends, if they weren't already before, and there's nothing better than hitting the bar after a tough game or a weekend tournament. But always use tolerance -- especially if you plan on getting behind the wheel afterwards.
