1
Ask friends and family if they may be interested in playing for a co-ed softball team. Perhaps they know someone who is interested in the idea as well. Be sure they will dedicate time to the sport. You want players who are responsible and have the time to play.
-
2
Look for an area where your team can practice and play games. This may be at one of the local baseball fields in your area. Ask about the rules and the regulations and if there is a fee to join or a deposit that needs to be paid.
-
3
Find other teams in your area. Local churches or businesses may be interested in starting their own team, or may already have one available. Coworkers sometimes find it fun and challenging to participate in such sports.
-
4
Choose a person to coach or to be your assistant if you are the one coaching the softball team. Determine how many players you have available. A typical game consists of nine players. Twelve players on a team would be sufficient.
-
5
Evaluate each team member and decide what position they would play the best. Rotate the players, allowing each to have a chance to demonstrate their abilities. Practice good sportsmanship and know the rules of the game.
-
6
Purchase necessary softball equipment such as gloves, bats, balls, bases and helmets. Uniforms will also need to be decided as well as a team name. Be prepared for each game and have fun playing.
