Laser Options for a Glock 26
-
Rail Mounted Lasers
-
Like all Glock pistols, the Glock 26 is equipped with mounting rails that will accept a wide range of equipment, including lasers. These rail-mounted lasers slide onto the rail under the barrel at the front of the pistol and are held in place with a screw or other locking mechanisms.
Glock makes two models of rail-mounted lasers that will fit the Glock 26, both of which are a combination of a white Xenon flashlight and a laser, the Glock Tactical Light (GTL) 21 and 22. The difference between them is that the GTL 22 has a dimmer function for the Xenon light. Another rail-mounted combination flashlight laser is the Streamlight TLR-2. The TLR-2 mounts with a clamp system that doesn't require the use of any tools.
Rear Mounted Lasers
-
Several different models of laser sights are available that mount on the rear of the Glock 26. These types of lasers replace the standard grips or rear sights on the Glock 26. Most of the rear-mounted lasers do not include a white light flashlight.
Crimson Trace makes the LG-626 G-Series laser sight for the Glock 26. The LG-626 G-Series is a grip-mounted laser that replaces the standard grip. LaserLyte makes the RL-1 laser sight that replaces the rear sight of the Glock 26. One of the advantages to a rear sight mounted laser is that you can still use your standard holster.
Internally Mounted Lasers
-
Some lasers are made to replace the guide rod and recoil spring of the Glock 26. The advantage to this type of laser is that the laser is always properly aligned. Crimson Trace makes the LG-436 Laserguard for the Glock 26. Installation of the LG-436 requires the Glock 26 to be taken apart as it would be for cleaning.
