How to Pass the Hunting Safety Course

Fall is hunting season. At one time hunting was an important time of year as it represented a source of food for hunters, as well as other necessities such as leather and moccasins. Now, hunting has become more of a sport. Since it is a sport which involves guns, it is necessary to take a hunting safety course.

Sign up for a hunter safety course in your area. In each state, this is given by the Fish and Game Department. These courses are specific to each sport, whether it is deer hunting, bear hunting, bow hunting or trapping. This information can be found online or through the town office or city hall. The information about the specific requirements may vary from state to state and will be provided to you when you inquire.

Study the practice materials for the test, or attend a course which goes over the practice materials. Some states offer these study materials online.

Take a practice test if you want. Then take the test on the day it's scheduled. Collect the certificate when you pass, as well as get your pass to attend the field day portion of the hunter safety course.

Attend the field day portion of the hunter safety course. Successfully complete three elements of the field day: shooting live rounds or arrows, pass a test on practical skills, and pass a written exam.
