Instructions

    • 1

Measure the girl's back and around the fullest part of the breast with your measuring tape. To ensure an accurate reading don't place your fingers under the tape as this will add to the actual measurement. Jot down the number on a piece of paper. This number will be called "X."

    • 2

Determine the circumference of the girl's ribcage by bringing the measuring tape around the back again, but this time bring it around to the front and under the breast. Make sure tape is snug. Jot this number down. This number will be called "Y."

    • 3

Calculate the girls bras size. Add five to the number "Y" and this is your bra size. For example, if the number is 24, your new number will be 29. If you get an uneven number add one. So, in the example above your bra size number will become 30.

    • 4

Subtract "Y" from "X" to determine the girl's cup size. Cup size is represented by letters, for example AA=1/2, A=1, B=2, C=3 and so forth. Still using the example above if "X equals 36 and "Y" equal 29 than the difference is 3 and the girl's cup size is "C." Now that you have the girl's bra size you can determine the correct size sports bra.

    • 5

Use the bra size to determine the correct sports bra size. For example, with the above example the girl's sports bra would fall with the range of 29 for the chest and C/D because sports bras combine cup size.
