How to Make Smores With Wonton Wrappers

Smores are ordinarily made with graham crackers, marshmallows and chunks of chocolate which melt together into a delicious treat. Popular around the campfire or at home for a decadent snack, homemade smores aren't difficult to make at all. If you don't have graham crackers, you can use won ton wraps to replace the crispy base ingredient. This not only gives you the flavors of the timeless dessert, but it's also a creative Asian-inspired spin on the recipe.

Instructions

    • 1

Peel apart at least four won ton wraps from the package, which can be purchased from most grocery stores. Four wraps will be needed to create two smores.

    • 2

Add the oil to the skillet and place it on the stove. Set the temperature to a medium-to-high heat. Let it heat up for five minutes.

    • 3

Place the won ton wraps in the sizzling skillet, making sure they aren't touching each other. Let each side sizzle for two minutes, flipping with a fork or set of tongs.

    • 4

Drain the fried won ton wraps on a paper towel.

    • 5

Place a 2-by-2 inch square of chocolate bar on the center of two of the won ton wraps. Place a single large marshmallow on top of each square of chocolate. Cover each marshmallow with another fried won ton wrap. This creates two large smores.

    • 6

Bake the smores on a baking sheet in your oven for five minutes on 450 degrees. This allows the chocolate to soften while the marshmallow swells and browns slightly on the outside.
