How to Put on Speedo Goggles

Being able to see underwater is very important to swimmers. Without any sort of eye protection, a swimmer's underwater view is often a cloudy version of the crystal-clear field of vision made possible by wearing googles. Goggles also protect the contact lenses of swimmers who wear them. Speedo has many varieties of goggles for sale. Some are mirrored to protect a swimmer's eyes from the sun -- a feature available for almost all Speedo models -- while Speedo's latest and greatest "Air Seal Tri" goggles feature wide-angle lenses for maximum underwater visibility.

      Hold your Speedo goggles in your palms and press them against your eye sockets. Loosen or tighten the nosepiece until it fits your face. The nosepiece is made with notches that are easily adjustable. Speedo Swedish-style goggles employ a string nosepiece, encased in a piece of rubber which can be difficult to adjust. Tie the goggle lenses together, but leave the knot loose, in case the goggles turn out to be too loose or tight around your nose. Tighten or loosen the string accordingly. Retie the goggles once the desired tautness is reached.

      Put on a swim cap before you attempt to put on goggles if you have long hair. If you don't have a cap, tie your hair back in a ponytail to minimize tangling.

      Loosen the goggle strap. Holding the goggles in the palm of your hand, press them onto your eyes.

      Slide your hands to the straps attached to the goggles. Pull the straps over and around the back of your head, leaving the strap to rest around your head.

      Remove the goggles from your head if too loose or tight. Loosen or tighten the strap until the goggles fit comfortably.
