How to Get Rid of Wrinkles In a Swimming Pool

Swimming pool liners sometimes develop liners. While they may not affect the life of the pool, these wrinkles can be unsightly. There are several methods for removing the wrinkles without replacing the liner. Two of the easiest involve a plunger and a push broom.

Instructions

  1. Plunger Method

    • 1

Enter the pool slowly to reduce the waves on the surface. The more waves on the surface, the harder it is to see the bottom.

    • 2

Place the plunger on the liner next to the wrinkle.

    • 3

Press the plunger up and down on the liner along the side of the wrinkle several times. This should shift the liner enough to remove the wrinkles.

    Push Broom Method

    • 4

Drain the pool down till there is one foot of water left.

    • 5

Position the broom next to the wrinkle.

    • 6

Press down on the broom and push across the wrinkle. Repeat two or three times to remove the wrinkle completely.

    • 7

Repeat step 3 for each wrinkle. After all of the wrinkles have been removed, push the broom around the bottom corner of the liner to stretch the wrinkles out of the edge.

    • 8

Refill the pool to the desired water level.
