School Volleyball Shirt Ideas

Your volleyball team's shirts should be simple yet attractive and descriptive of your team and the players. These shirts will most likely be passed down year after year, so you have to make sure they are just right. Here are a few school volleyball shirt ideas that could take your uniforms to another level.

  1. The School Motto

    • When creating your volleyball shirts, you don't necessarily have to post your school's name and the number. You can do something different, such as writing your team or school motto across the front of the shirt, if it is compelling enough. For instance, "We Are the Future" or "Together Everyone Accomplishes More (TEAM)." You can also print an inside joke that only team members will get, or something wacky like, "We give free facials" (see "References" for more of offbeat and witty lines). This will help unify and motivate the team under one common goal.

    Place Accents on the Volleyball

    • Another option is to print a picture of a volleyball with special accents on the ball. For instance, you can put a mad face on the ball, or set it in flames. You can also get a cartoon image of someone hitting the ball down into the face of a terrified opponent on the other side of the net.

    Patches

    • When you order your school volleyball shirts, order some velcro or embroidered patches to go with it. Write special titles for each team member on the patches. For instance, "Starting Setter" or "Go-To Hitter" with an image of the volleyball at the center. You can even create titles that are witty and creative to describe each person's personality or playing style. This will make each team member feel special, included and valued for what she is good at.

      As long as your league rules permit, place the patches on one of the shoulders of the front of the shirt, or on the sleeve.

    Volleyball Polos

    • In addition to the standard volleyball shirts that you buy for your team uniforms, purchase a polo shirt for each member of the team. Polo shirts are popular with both men and women, and in some cases teams play in them. For women, there are figure-flattering polo team shirts that you can buy and customize (see "Resources" for an example). Require your team members to wear the polo shirt on every home game day in school as a show of unity.
