Team Shirt Ideas

There is nothing quite like team shirts to raise team spirit. Whether you are on an amateur bowling team or a serious baseball team, choosing the right shirt theme and design can help you intimidate your opponents and feel like a cohesive unit. In addition, shirt ideas can help you all have a good laugh. Decide what shirt idea is right for your team by choosing whether you want a design that screams victory, participation or just plain fun.
  1. Logos

    • The logo on your team shirt defines what your team stands for. For a more serious logo, try a design of piece of equipment for your sport with flames attached to it. A baseball on fire signals that your team is serious about winning. If you want a less serious tone, design a logo that is more cartoon-like. For a bowling team of all men, for example, it might be funny to have shirts with big, pink cartoon hearts on them.

    Slogans

    • Putting a slogan on your team shirt also helps define your team. Come up with an inspirational slogan, and splash it across the front or back your shirts. Something like, "Now Is the Time," "Rock Solid" or "Whatever it Takes" shows the other teams that you are serious about winning. If you are on a less serious team, try a funny slogan such as, "At Least We're Not the Other Team," "We're Number One .. .At Losing" or "Winning Isn't Everything."

    Colors

    • The color of shirt that you choose can drastically alter the tone of your team shirt. White is a common color for team shirts, but consider bright red if you want to convey intensity. Black also works well for a tone of seriousness. Use camouflage shirts for a team that is serious about winning. For levity, try getting bright pink shirts or having each player on the team wear a shirt of a different color.

    Portraits

    • Make your team shirts unique by printing pictures on them. Choose one player on your team to be your "mascot," and put his picture on the team shirt. Alternatively, have everyone make a shirt bearing his own face. You can also choose a historical figure to put on your shirt. Try putting a hero from your sport on and naming your team after him. Or, put an inspirational historical figure, such as Abraham Lincoln, on the front of your team shirt.
