How to Hit Better in Volleyball
Instructions

-
1
Focus on consistency in your approach. The opposition has a difficult time reading a hitter that uses same approach every time.
-
2
Attack the ball with an open hand. This enables better control of the hit. Spread the fingers to cover more surface area on the ball and spin. Follow through, taking your arm to your hip.
-
3
Improve momentum with the line hit. Approach as normal and rotate your hips toward the line. Your shoulders move in the same direction as the hips in one smooth action. Aim the ball near the line without forcing it on the line.
-
4
Spike the ball with the angle hit or cut shot. Approach with your shoulders turned toward the opposite side of the opponent's court. Attack the ball with a cutting action of the arm, forcing the ball to the hard angle or the deep angle.
-
5
Drive the volleyball directly at a weak opponent with the kill hit. It's easier to change your mind in the air from kill to tip, than vice versa.
-
6
Take the easy point with a tip or dink hit. Use the same approach as an attack and at the last minute use the knuckles or fingertips to place the ball into a gap on the opponent's side.
