Instructions

    • 1

Fill the bottom part of a double boiler with 2 inches of water. Put the top part of the double boiler in place on the bottom part. Turn the stove on and heat the water using low heat.

    • 2

Drop 6 teaspoons of paraffin wax into the top container of the double boiler. Add 1 1/2 teaspoons of microcrystalline wax.

    • 3

Place 1/2 teaspoon each of petroleum jelly and rubber gum adhesive into the pot with the two waxes. Stir the mixture as it melts to blend the ingredients well.

    • 4

Add fragrance to your surfboard wax with two drops of fragrant essential oil. Choose a beach-like scent, if preferred, such as coconut or citrus. Place the essential oil into the wax solution and stir it in.

    • 5

Pour the liquefied wax solution into a metal tin. Be careful because the wax will make the tin hot.

    • 6

Allow the surfboard wax to cool completely. Cover the tin with a lid and store your homemade surfboard wax away from heat sources to keep it from liquefying.
