How to Properly Adjust Snowshoe Bindings
Snowshoes allow you to explore hiking trails and back-country paths in the middle of winter. Unlike cross-country skis, snowshoes require no special skills to use. If you can walk, you can snowshoe. Modern snowshoes are lightweight and easy to maneuver, with aerodynamic shapes and easy-to-adjust bindings. Wear warm socks and boots and several layers of clothing for a snowshoe outing. As you warm up with the effort of striding through the snow, you can remove the top layers.

1
Step into the snowshoe binding and center your foot in the binding, with the toe of your boot all the way forward, against the front of the binding. The buckles of the binding should be on the outer side of the foot.
-
2
Wrap the heel strap around the back of the boot and click the end into the buckle on the side of the foot. Pull on the strap to tighten.
-
3
Fasten the strap across the top of the foot. Pull up on the strap to tighten.
-
4
Repeat for the other foot. Take a few steps. If either snow shoe feels loose, tighten the straps again.
