How to Make a Ski Helmet

Ski helmets prevent most head damage if and when you fall while skiing or snowboarding. If you do not own a ski helmet, it is best to purchase one from your local outdoors supply store. If you have a skateboard helmet, you can actually create your own ski helmet as they are very similar.

Instructions

    • 1

Place the skateboard helmet onto a table.

    • 2

Measure the width of the ski goggle strap with the measuring tape and Dremel out the exact measurement on the rear of the helmet. This is where the strap will be secured.

    • 3

Place the goggles around the helmet and lay the strap into the valley you just cut out using the Dremel tool.

    • 4

Place the wool snow hat onto your head. It is recommended to use a wool hat that covers your ears and is secured around your chin.

    • 5

Place the ski helmet onto your head, over the wool hat. Adjust the chin strap so it is restrained around your chin, but not overly tight.

    • 6

Stretch the ski goggles over your eyes. The goggle strap is secured in the notch you made.
