How to Apply Swix

The Swix company, founded in 1946, is based in Lillehammer, Norway. It offers a wide range of products for outdoor winter sports enthusiasts, including ski apparel, gear, accessories and wax products. Swix recommends cleaning and waxing your snowboard or skis regularly to enhance your experience. Waxing improves the glide of your equipment, allowing you to execute smoother turns. After cleaning your equipment, try several different waxing products to find one that you prefer. Swix offers dry wax, liquid wax and "pocket wax."

Instructions

  1. Cleaning

    • 1

      Spray the base cleaner on the base of your skis or snowboard. Apply just enough to cover the surface.

      Wait about 15 to 20 seconds.

      Wipe the cleaner off using Swix Fiberlene paper.

    Waxing: Dry Method

      Rub the solid, F460 wax on the base of the snowboard or skis.

      Cover the entire base, using a "drawing" motion, as if you were using crayons.

      Buff the wax off with the cork on the back of the solid wax package. Continue buffing until you no longer see visible wax residue.

    Waxing: Liquid Method

      Shake the liquid wax container, number F4150.

      Hold the can no farther away than 1 inch from the base of your snowboard or skis. Position it so the top is directly facing the base.

      Press the base of the can to release the liquid wax. Move the can over the entire base to distribute the wax evenly.

      Wait two to three minutes.

      Buff the liquid wax with Swix Fiberlene paper, number T151.

    Waxing: Pocket Wax Method

      Shake a bottle of F4100 easy glide pocket wax.

      Take off the cap and press the foam applicator against the base of your snowboard or skis.

      Move the applicator up the base, distributing the wax evenly. Cover the entire base.

      Wait about 10 minutes for the wax to dry.

    • 16

      Buff the base with a Fiberlene paper.
