1
Begin with your partner attempting a single leg take down on you. This means you are standing legs comfortably apart with your arms by your side. Your partner is kneeling with one knee on the floor with both arms wrapped around your left knee with their hands locked at the wrists. There is no intention to hurt or cause pain to the other person and these instructions are for practice purposes only.

2
Allow your partner to pick up your knee forcing you onto one foot as you counter by pushing your forehead into your opponent's temple while flicking your leg to the outside of your partner's leg. Essentially, you force him to release his grip on your knee.
-
3
Grab your partner's right wrist as he continues to hold your knee and you continue to stand on one foot.
-
4
Push your arm up from your partner's wrist to their underarm in preparation for a shift in body weight and position. Remember to perform all these steps in rapid succession to make the move as seamless as possible.
-
5
Lean into your opponent with all your body weight as you twist under him with your arm and then whole body. Your partner should land on top of you.
-
6
Force your partner's body over your own using your arm strength to flip him onto your opposite. This movement should finally release your knee from your opponent's grasp.
-
7
Practice this move often and incorporate it into other defensive techniques.
