How to Do the Shooting Star Press

The Shooting Star Press, made popular by wrestlers like Jushin Liger and Billy Kidman, is one of the most daring, acrobatic and thrilling moves in pro wrestling. It can also be one of the most dangerous, however, if it's attempted by an amateur.

Instructions

    • 1

Get your opponent lying face up in the ring. He should be somewhere between the middle of the ring and one corner for you to have the best shot at this move.

    • 2

Climb to the top turnbuckle in the corner closest to your opponent. Balance on the ropes and stand at full height, facing the opponent and the center of the ring.

    • 3

Leap off the ropes toward your opponent. At the same time, using the ropes for leverage, twist your body backwards in the opposite direction, so you'll do a backwards somersault in the air while flying toward your opponent.

    • 4

Land on your opponent belly to belly and go for the pin cover. Your momentum may cause you to bounce off your opponent. In that case, just make it back quickly and cover him.
