1
Choose cheer shorts in a color that matches the team or school's main color. Typically, a school, team or association will have colors that include a main color with at least one secondary color. Choose the main or most prominent color for the shorts.
-
2
Sew or use fabric glue to attach a border trim in secondary team colors. Create a fabric border along the bottom edge and side seams of the shorts using narrow strips of material to add an overall school or team effect to the uniform shorts.
-
3
Choose a T-shirt that matches the secondary trim color used on the border of the shorts or consider using a third team color. A white T-shirt can be a good choice in many cases as trim that matches the trim on the shorts can be added to the neck line and sleeves.
-
4
Select a large iron-on letter or letters for the T-shirt. The first letter of a team or school name can be ironed onto the front of the T-shirt. The letters can be large and centered or use smaller letters and position them on the left or right side.
-
5
Remove the laces from shoes that will be used as part of the uniform and replace them with color laces that match either the shorts or trim used on the shorts and T-shirt. Be creative and use two laces in team colors on each shoe for greater effect.
