How to Create a Team Website

Name your team website. Use something related to the team name that will be in the domain name to help people locate your site. Register the name you choose by visiting a site such as Register.com, Dotster.com or Godaddy.com to purchase your domain name (See Resources.)

Locate a Web host for your team site. Webhostingchoice.com provides a list of the top 10 Web hosts. Review the list and locate the Web host that provides the features necessary for your website. For example, if you want several pages of pictures showing your team spirit, choose a Web host that offers a lot of storage space for photos and videos.

Create an account for your team website with the Web host you choose. Place your domain name for your website in the box supplied on the Web host's site. Click "Continue" after choosing the type of site you are creating, such as business or personal. Enter your name, address, email address and billing information to complete the registration process. You will use your email address to log on for furture website updates.

Click on a template that matches your team colors, such as red and black. There are hundreds of templates available, so scroll through the list until you locate the one you like.

Begin creating your team website by naming your pages. Make them relate to activities or information about the team. Include a "Home" page and a "Members" page. Also, consider adding a page for fans to sign up to receive emails or updates from your website.

Add photos of the team and events to your Web pages by clicking the button to upload photos. Move them by grabbing the edges and using your mouse to drag them. Use the "upload media" button to add videos.

Add text around and under your photos by clicking on the "add text" button. Use a font for the text that matches your team writing. Review the pages after creating them to make sure there are no errors.

Publish your team website and make it accessible for fans. Click on the link that allows you to publish the pages. Update your site often by adding new team pictures and member information.
