How to Create Team Logos

Add a little character to your team with a custom logo. Even if you are bereft of art skills, there are resources available that allow you to create custom team logos with a professional look. Online templates and programs let you make logos with aplomb and some even let you license and register the design after the design process. Once created, the image is stored on a .tiff, .pdf or .jpg file, allowing it to be made into silkscreens for jerseys, team banners or other items.

Instructions

    • 1

Direct the internet browser to the Hewlett-Packard (HP) logo-creation website. Enter the registration information to create your account. Find the "Start Your Logo" link and click it.

    • 2

Click on the link relevant to your logo needs. For example, if the logo is for a sports team, click "sports." Choose the logo style you want to create. The template gives you three different options: a letter-style design, an abstract-style design or a symbol-style design.

    • 3

Choose your colors and fonts. The best logos are usually simple and tend to follow the "less is more" adage for successful design. Avoid using too many colors or a mixture of fonts. If your team already has colors, select those from the palette options.

    • 4

Inspect the design on the tune-up screen. Make touch-ups and color changes if needed. Edit and proofread for accuracy. Click "Save."

    • 5

Submit the payment for the licensing and registration of your logo. Save the file into your chosen format. Many silk-screeners and banner-makers prefer to work with .tiff, .pdf or .jpg files, making them logical choices for saving the logo file. If you are not ready to pay, save the logo into your account on the HP logo account page (that you created in Step 1). Create the logo for free. Pay for the rights to the files for use on banners, team clothing and other items.
