How to Name a Kid's Soccer Team

Naming a kid's soccer team is a fun process for the coaches, the players and parents. Some children would be happy if they were named something silly like the "Chinchillas" or the "Burritos", but parents often push for a name they can post on Facebook or share with work friends and grandparents that sounds catchy and complements the color assigned to the team. Children put their hearts and souls into their matches and deserve a great team name to match their team spirit.

Instructions

    • 1

Determine what color the team has been assigned by the administration. Recreation departments, YMCA groups and school districts generally stick to colors such as red, green, yellow, blue, gray, black and white.

    • 2

Pair the team color with a complementary name. For example, the Green Dragons, Red Raiders and Black Hawks are options, while the Yellow Bookworms and Blue Berries don't work as well.

    • 3

Narrow the name choices down to three and enlist the help of the players and parents to make the final decision. This way, the whole group will feel they helped name the team. For example, the majority of votes will determine if the team will be called the Green Dragons, the Green Machine or the Green Beans.
