1
Gather the team together. Go out to eat, watch a movie or spend time together. This can form a deeper unity. Unity within your team will raise your players' spirits and promote a family-like atmosphere.
-
2
Remind team members of previous struggles they have overcome. Take a cue from inspirational sports movies--give your team a speech laced with words of courage and triumph. Tell them not to give up.
-
3
Ask graduating team members or professionals to come in and speak to your team. This will give your current team members positive role models. Allow time for a question-and-answer session so your team members can seek guidance from the speakers.
-
4
Encourage fan participation. Lead cheers that support your team to electrify the crowd. Prepare a simple cheer that is easy to remember and teach it to your team's fans.
-
5
Show off your own spirit. Spirit is infectious--sometimes all it takes is one fanatic to lift up a team's spirit. Use such props as posters, banners or face paint to advertise your allegiance. This will compel other fans to do the same.
