An outward display of team spirit will give you a more endearing image in the community. Show enthusiasm within the team. Start inwardly to build team spirit. Each baseball player needs to show patience with one another, being encouraging and cooperative. Over time the baseball team will build a cohesive friendship. Do activities together other than baseball and help each other accomplish goals unrelated to sports. This will help the team begin to relate to one another on a deeper level. The friendship will evolve into a tight-knit baseball community that can overcome losses and increase the team's capacity to work together. Effectively working together contributes to team spirit.

If a team member fails to put in effort, resentment may start to develop. Practice hard and play to your potential on game days. Each team member needs to put in equal effort to raise confidence in each other and to reduce conflict. If your team is enduring a losing streak, each team member should continue to show love for the game. When each team member is willing to overcome losses and sacrifice, they will begin to respect one another. Respect is a major aspect of team spirit.

An attractive logo will even entice people who are not interested in sports. Sell and give away sports apparel and accessories. If your team does not have a logo or mascot, create them to connect your team to an image. The team can hold a contest for the fan who creates the best logo and/or most imaginative mascot. Fans love sports apparel, bumper stickers, face painting and key charms of their favorite teams. As more and more fans wear the team spirit items, support for the team becomes infectious.

If the accomplishments of the team is hidden, then team spirit is effected. Publicize the team. As the team improves, the coach should offer public recognition for the team and individual players.Once the achievements become well-known, the team will gain a following. Fans will develop a personal connection to players. The coach should work toward gaining more exposure for the team by posting schedules in appealing locations, contacting alumni of the school or community for support, and getting players interviewed by the local newspaper. Even if the team does not improve, the coach should publicly offer encouragement and highlight accomplishments.
