Ideas for a Track Team on Senior Night
-
Team Entrance
-
On Senior Night, recognize your track team members' years of dedication with a team entrance. Honor the team members' parents, as well, by providing each student with a bouquet of flowers in the school colors. As each student is announced, she can present the bouquet to her parents or other family members.
Senior Skit
-
Senior Night is perhaps the last night when the track team will all be together. Ask the seniors on your track team to think back through the years and write down a few of their most memorable events: funny, sad, exciting or depressing. They can use these events to write a short skit, with each member playing a role. The group then performs the skit to the audience on Senior Night.
Comedy Sketch
-
Ask the underclassmen on the track team to write a short skit to perform for the seniors. These students can cull their memories of the seniors and take into account each senior's characteristics to create a farce -- a sketch that pokes a bit of fun at the seniors while still showing their worth to the team. Be sure the sketch doesn't go too far in making fun of others; Senior Night should be an honor and enjoyable to the seniors.
Progressive Dinner
-
Progressive dinners honor your track team seniors as you keep the party moving throughout the evening. Ask three underclassmen to each host one course -- appetizer, entree or dessert -- at their homes, each with a different theme. For instance, serve appetizers with a slideshow of photos from the seniors' elementary school years. With the entree at the next house, watch a slideshow of the seniors' high school accomplishments. End the night with dessert and awards honoring the seniors for their hard work on the track team.
