How to Decorate Tables for a Basketball Banquet

The basketball season is over. No more long hours of practice and bus trips to distant locations. It's time to honor your players and your assistant coaches with the end-of-season banquet. You'll want to commemorate the highlights and the great moments and make light of some of the well-intentioned mistakes.

      Put four pictures on every table that commemorate the season you have just finished. You'll probably want to put two players at each table. In addition to the players, you will put their families and close friends. Put two pictures of each player on the table so that will give them and their families a chance to relive some of their best moments.

      Put miniature baskets on each table along with miniature basketballs. This will give some of your guests a chance to show their skill at shooting at the smaller baskets. The baskets will show your players and your guests that you can have fun with the same sport you worked hours and hours on during the season.

      Put the box scores of some of the most memorable games on the table. This will mean a lot to your players and their families. It will give them an opportunity to remember the details of some of the most memorable games they played in during the year and they can see what they did right and what they did wrong in the game. It will help them improve in a subtle manner.

      Have participation trophies on the tables for each of the players you had on your team. During the course of the banquet, you may give out individual awards to your team's most valuable player, the best defensive player and top first-year player, but your team's participation trophies should be on the table.
