How to Decorate Basketball Players' Lockers

Basketball players want to know their fans and classmates appreciate their athleticism and winning attitude. Cheerleaders, friends, family members and coaches can help pump up team spirit by decorating the lockers of each basketball player to encourage them to play hard and win. When the players start getting ready for the big game they’ll be both surprised and pleased to walk into the locker room and find their peers took the time to decorate their lockers.

Instructions

      Make spirit signs and hang them on the player’s lockers. Write phrases such as “Go Team” on the signs and tape them to the front of the lockers.

      Cut out stars from construction paper in your team’s colors. Write a basketball player’s name on each star and tape each player’s star to his locker.

      Cut out #1 from construction paper and tape #1 to each locker to let the players know they are Number 1.

      Make cards for each player to stick to their lockers. Have cheerleaders, classmates, teachers and other school personnel write personal messages on the cards for the players. While the players get ready for the game they can read the messages everyone took time to write to them, which will make them feel appreciated and pumped up for the big game.

      Hang banners, streamers and balloons in school colors to the lockers to accentuate your signs and cards.
