Poster Ideas for Basketball Games

Creating posters is an old tradition of showing team spirit. With a few supplies from your local craft store, you can create personalized posters to show the world your basketball team is the best. Use your creativity to make the best signs you can.
  1. Our Team is Dynamite

    • Collect emptied paper towel and toilet tissue rolls. Purchase black and dark red tissue paper, one 4-by-6 foot sheet of poster board, black and white wide tip markers and a ball of twine. In the center of your poster board, write with your black marker, "Our Team is Dynamite." Wrap each of your cardboard tubes with black or red tissue paper stuffing the ends to hold the paper in place. Cut a 3-inch piece of twine for each tube and tape just inside the end, creating a fuse for your dynamite stick. With your white marker, write a different team member's name on each tube. Glue your sticks to your poster board around your wording, or use a staple gun to attach them from the inside.

    Basketball Poster

    • Purchase a jumbo-sized square piece of poster board, orange and black poster paint, hobby sand and a wide tipped black marker. Using a hula-hoop, trace and cut a circle from your poster board. Pour your orange poster paint into a bucket and spoon in 2 tbsp. (heaping) of hobby sand. Stir in the sand until evenly distributed. Allow to dry. With your black paint, draw two curved lines on your poster to create the look of a basketball. Decorate your basketball with your team logo, school name, game dates and times, or players' names.

    Floor Poster

    • Purchase a 3-by-6 foot light brown poster board, white and black markers, medium craft balls and orange poster paint. On your poster board, draw a basketball court, creating the centerline, jump circle, free throw lines and boundaries. Paint enough craft balls orange for each member of the team. With your white marker, write players names on the balls and place them on the poster board arranged in the positions they play. Place first string on one end and second string on the other. Make one for the coach and put him in the middle. Write your team logo, and words of team spirit and encouragement along the bottom, or game dates and times.
