School Spirit Outfit Ideas for Basketball Games
-
School Colors
-
One of the simplest ways to cheer your school's basketball team is to wear your school colors. There are many ways to do this. Wear a shirt that is one of your school colors and pants or shorts that are the other color. Use colored masking or duct tape to put stripes on a T-shirt so it has both of your school colors. Stick tape to pants or shorts as well. Change your shoelaces so one shoe has one of your school colors and the other shoe has the second school color. Wear two different socks or earrings that match your school colors.
Player Numbers
-
If you have a favorite player on the basketball team, wear a jersey or T-shirt with his number on it. Generic jerseys are available at many retail stores. Use fabric paint or colored tape to put the number on the back. Paint or tape the player's name as well. You can do the same to a T-shirt you already have. Get a group of friends together and each of you can choose one player to showcase on your jersey or T-shirt.
School Logo
-
Many schools sell team spirit wear as part of fundraisers. Purchase a T-shirt, sweatshirt or pair of shorts and wear it to the game. Add accessories, such as jewelry, hair pieces or belts that match the school spirit wear. If your school does not offer spirit wear, consider asking the PTA or other parent organization to consider doing so in the future.
Basketball Theme
-
Use a plain orange T-shirt and black fabric paint to design a shirt that mimics the appearance of a basketball. Use the black fabric paint to write a simple and supportive message to the basketball team. Another basketball-themed idea would be to cut a large circle from a piece of orange felt and use black fabric paint to make it look like a basketball. Pin or sew it to a T-shirt you already have. Make several small basketballs to decorate a pair of pants or shorts.
