1
Talk to parents, especially parents of your daughter's friends. Some of her friends might already be part of a Little League softball program and their parents may be able to give you valuable advice. Plus, your daughter may want to join the same league as her friends.
-
2
Find out what Little League teams are near you. Depending on where you live, there might be ten leagues within five miles of your home or there might be none. Ask around or visit the Little League website to locate nearby leagues. See the Resources section below for a link.
-
3
Visit these leagues in person. Find out what they are like. All leagues are different and you will want to know which leagues have the best facilities and surrounding neighborhoods.
-
4
Learn more about the leagues in your area. Call the Little League and ask about registration costs, how good the softball program is and how they differ from nearby leagues.
-
5
Choose a Little League softball program. Consider location, facilities, cost and reputation while making your decision. Whichever league you choose will probably be the league you use in the future.

Find out what the league's schedule is like. Most leagues play during spring, but the exact starting dates differ from league to league. Likewise, due dates for registration will be different from league to league, so be sure to find out to avoid late fees or missed deadlines.
-
7
Pick up a form at the Little League or go to the Little League website for a printable version. You will need to submit this form along with the registration fee when you sign up for the program.
-
8
Sign your daughter up to the appropriate age group. Little League softball is separated into groups based on age. For example, the Majors Division is for children ages 10 to 12.
