How to Volunteer at ESPN Winter X Games

The Winter X Games event involves several winter competitions that are free and open to the public each day. This leads to large crowds and the need for extra staff and volunteers. The event relies on its volunteers to check participants in and provide crowd control services among other things. Here is how to volunteer for the Winter X Games.

      Be 18 years of age by the date you are scheduled to work.

      Be available to volunteer each day from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. The X Games usually won't schedule you for 12-hour days, but the staff will hook you up with available people with whom you will work. The X Games has various events taking place simultaneously so scheduling logistics do not allow them to accommodate your preferences of certain people you want to work with. The volunteers work where the X Games staff needs you and when they need you there.

      Be willing to work in a variety of positions. You may be needed in spectator services, as an usher, in credential checking, access control, and in crowd control. Or you may be needed to help with other events and jobs that the X Games staff uses volunteers to fill. They will notify you of where you are needed after you apply.

      Apply on the X Games website after the dates are available. Go to the ESPN website and select the "X Games" button. Then select "Event Info." Choose the volunteer button. This will take you to a page that describes volunteering. Scroll down and select the volunteer button in the text to apply.
