Remove the old grips. Insert a screwdriver between the grip and handlebar and apply a penetrating oil to lubricate the grip and bar. Twist the grip side to side while pulling to slide it off. You also can slice off the old grip using a utility knife if you don't intend to keep the old grip.

Clean away any dirt, debris or corrosion from the handlebars using a rust remover or cleaning solvent. Wipe off any cleaning residue and dry the handlebar thoroughly with a cloth or paper towel.

Slide on the new handlebar grips until they are flush with the handlebar ends. Ensure that the ends with the hilts are closest to the center of the bike.

Insert the plugs into the holes at the ends of the handlebar. Push them in until they stop or are flush with the handlebar ends.
