Instructions

  1. Preparation and Wheelie Execution

    • 1

Find a safe location to pop your first wheelie. Once you are wearing all of the safety equipment, find a safe location in which to pop your first wheelie. Avoid paved roads and places where the dirt is too loose to gain the proper traction.

    • 2

Accelerate the CR 250 to between 20 and 30 mph. Shift your bike into first gear, accelerate, and then shift into second gear. Continue accelerating until you feel you have reach a speed between 20 and 30 mph.

    • 3

Ensure that your riding path is clear from obstructions. Look ahead of you and behind you, ensuring that there are no obstacles and/or other riders that could get in your way.

    • 4

Hold in the clutch, cover the back brake, pull back the throttle, and pop the clutch. Pull the clutch back and prepare to hit the back brake in case your bike comes up too far back for comfort. Pull the throttle 3/4 of the way back, quickly let out the clutch, lean back a little, and hold on tight. You should now be in the wheelie position.

    • 5

Stop the wheelie by letting off the throttle. Once you feel that you have had enough, let off the throttle, and your bike's front end should gently fall forward to the ground in the normal riding position. If done right, you just popped a wheelie like a pro, and lived to tell the tale.
