How to Make a Snowskate With Two Skateboards
Things You'll Need
- 2 skateboards, at least one with trucks
- Metal strapping
- Short screws (shorter than your bottom skateboard deck)
- Screwdriver (for short screws)
- Allen wrench (sized for your skateboard hardware)
- Small adjustable wrench
- Tin snips
- Drill
- 1/4-inch drill bit
Instructions

1
Choose one skateboard deck to be the top deck and one to be the bottom deck. If they are different in size, use the larger deck for the top. If they are the same size, use the less-worn deck for the bottom.
-
2
If both skateboard decks have trucks, choose a set to use for your snowskate. You are going to make them unusable as skateboard trucks, so use the lesser set.
-
3
If necessary, using the Allen wrench and adjustable wrench, remove the trucks from the bottom deck and affix your chosen trucks to your chosen top deck.
-
4
Use the hacksaw to cut the axles off the trucks.
-
5
Use the drill with the 1/4-inch drill bit to drill holes in the front and rear portions of the top deck, about 1 1/2-inch apart, for better grip in the snow.
-
6
If necessary, sand and clean up the bottom deck.
-
7
Use the tin snips to cut four pieces of metal strapping that are long enough to go over each tip of the trucks and have enough slack to put a screw on each side.
-
8
Using the short screws, fasten the metal strapping to the top of the bottom deck, over the tips of the trucks. Get as close to the center post of the truck as possible to prevent the truck from sliding out of the metal strapping.
-
9
Wax the bottom deck and you are ready to shred some snow!
