How to Make a Snowskate
Snowskating is a hybrid of skateboarding and snowboarding. Riders user a smooth board equipped with rails and ride down snowy hills without being clipped into the board. It is a niche activity that is popular among young people, and one of the benefits is the inexpensive equipment. You can build your own snowskate using an old skateboard and a few simple tools.

1
Find an old skateboard or skateboard deck, or buy a new one. An ideal skateboard is one with an intact deck but wheels or trucks that have broken down.
-
2
Remove the skateboard trucks, which anchor the wheels into the skateboard.
-
3
Sand down any extraneous wood or materials that might catch on the underside when you are riding. The best snowskates have the smoothest undersides.
-
4
Apply snowboard wax to the underside of the deck. This will protect the skateboard and cover up minor imperfections while reducing friction between the snow and your snowskate.
