1
Buy a camera. This is determined by your budget. You can go for bad boys that can set you back thousands of dollars, or for something cheaper like a run-of-the mill digital camera. Something that's able to capture good quality video and sound would be best.
-
2
Invest in a fisheye lens. Go for one that provides barrel distortion which gives the appearance of images projected into a barrel. Lenses can run from $900 bucks new, or cheaper if you find it on eBay, or through a wholesaler like B&H Photo Video. One of the cheapest lenses that still gets great results is by Kenko. It runs about $50.
-
3
Buy other lenses as well so you can have a variety of shots. You know what they say about variety.
-
4
Watch other skateboard videos to get an idea of what effects they used. Great examples are at Skim the Fat and Custom Skateboarding.
-
5
Be careful when you shoot your video. Keep in mind you have to be pretty close to your subject while you're shooting. You also might want to practice with a less expensive camera and lens while skating fast while shooting.
-
6
Have fun and be as zany and creative as you want. You want your video to be cool and get noticed. Show off all your best moves.
-
7
Upload your shots from your camera into your computer. Edit and compile them using the video editing software of your choice. Once you have everything the way you like it, you have completed your skateboard video.
