How to Make Your Own Paintball Pads

Paintball is a sport in which players compete against each other on teams or as individuals. The goal is to eliminate the other players by shooting them with paint bullets to signify a "kill." Protective gear is worn by the combatants to shield their bodies from paint bullets. Using various materials, players can create their own gear such as protective vests and elbow pads for use during the game.

Instructions

    • 1

Purchase a body vest from a sporting goods store. Ensure the vest is larger than your torso so you can modify it with padding but still have it fit comfortably over your body.

    • 2

Measure the inside of the vest to determine the length of the torso and arms. Measure every area of the vest to learn exactly how much foam padding you will have to cut to fit the entire vest.

    • 3

Cut the foam padding to match the lengths needed for each section of the vest. Hand-sew them loosely to the inside of each section.

    • 4

Try the vest on before sewing each section firmly into place. Ensure that the padding protects the required areas of your body. Make any adjustments and finish sewing the padding into place on the inside of the vest.

    • 5

Purchase knee and elbow pads to use during your paintball games. Knee and elbow pads used in sports such as wrestling offer soft padding to help protect from injuries and will help protect your body from the sting of the paint pellets.
